Default 93 civic sedan upgrades

Just picked up a 93 Civic lx w/ an auto and a shot motor..couple of questions
I am told best & cheapest swab is a 94-96 integra LS motor is this right ?
Also I want a 5-speed switchover, is this hard ?
I also have access to a 95 integra (wrecked) with a good motor but is an automatic,is an automatic motor the same as a manual motor ?
newbie from minnesota

cool...welcome to the club...i have a 93 LX...except it is manual and the motor runs perfectly

not necessarily...unless you can find an LS swap cheap somehwere...i'd go with a JDM B16a SiR2. Only 2300 bucks, gives you 170 HP and VTEC.

yes...there is a lot of custom fabrication necessary and cutting and rerouting things

no...the transmissions are obviously different, and the cams i believe are slightly different as well. I would take the 95 auto integra motor and put it in your car, it would be a LOT easier than converting from auto to manual...unless you REALLY want to go manual (like 99% of the people on this site would say)

Yeah, the B18B (Integra LS motor) is the most cost effective. The B16A Sir2 is a dragging bitch of a creature and doesn't make any real power until you rev it to 8400 rpms. I'd stick with the automatic LS and once you need more, go darkside and turbo it. 170 VTEC horsepower doesn't mean much when coupled with 90 foot pounds of torque.

The auto to manual swap isn't hard at all. All the holes are there, all you need to do is drill some of them through and mount the pedal and cable assembly. I've never heard of "custom fabrication" with a setup such as that.

no. your seriously wrong. its easy as banging a ding out of the shifter tunnel, plug in the clutch master cyl, bolt up pedals ( holes are already there) run hydrolic line from clutch master cyl to slave cyl on teh tranny, and connect shifter linkage.

idiots....

oh yea and you eather have to get the HCP EG AT MT mount, from jdmshit $130 shipped. or you drill off the AT mount, and weld the MT mount on. $130 isnt a bad price....

but dont run without this mount, people have busted tranny housings and broken axles form not running with this mount.
