Prelude SH 1/4 mile times......
I've been searching for a new car for a while and I finally found one I like. Its a 97 Prelude SH Vtec. I'm gonna be trading in my civic for it. Since I've been working with my civic for so long i dont really know a whole lot about preludes.
If someone could please tell what they run stock, hp, and torque, that would be really helpful. The motor was a h22a4.
I'm going down tomarrow to do the paperwork to purchase it, any feedback on this car would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

1997-1999 preludes have 195 hp. 2000-2001 have 200 hp.
this will help a lot.

and 15.6 is a shitty driver. seen completely stock SH's run 14.9 on great track days with a normal (not professional) driver.
as far as getting an SH. i have a 2000 SH. if you think you will ever want to boost, go monstor all motor, anything like that then get a base model. if you remove the stock ECU you will lose ATTS. thus defeating the purpose of spending the extra cash on the SH. if you want the pros and cons do a search for ATTS and you will get tons of threads. they will help you make up your mind a lot easier on base VS. SH.

I also own an SH and I love it. Like shakes said though, only get it if you are planning to go mild with it. It is possible to go FI, but if the whp exeeds 220-240whp, ATTS will shut off - IMO spending the $ on FI with these gains is pointless. If you like attacking twisty roads and pushing the car to the handling limit then you will love the SH. With a good set of tires that car can do alot in the turns.

1997-1998 have 195 HP 1999-2001 have 200 hp and i dont think that has been proven and also i read that autos have 195 and 5 speeds had 200 hp
dam 14.9 is pretty quick the integra type R runs as fast as that with 190 hp and about 400 lbs less than the prelude and 15.4-15.5 is what a professional driver runs from car and driver, motor trend and some other magazines

would you guys happen to know why my RPM drops on launch at the track. For instance if i drop it at 5 right on launch it will like hesitate or something then pick up. it doesn't pick up right on launch unless i launch around 5.5 or 6. On the streets it doesn't do that, it'll pick right up. do you think it might be the tracks condition cuz it isn't a really good track.
The now legendary Sev ran a best of 14.7 sec in a bone-stock 1998 TypeSH. He also ran multiple 14.8 passes in that car - all bone stock with just the spare tire and jack removed. The '98 models were rated at 195HP.
