Default knocka knocka in tranny with AC on

what causes the tranny to knocka knocka when the AC cycles on and
off at idle? I just installed:

CM 7.5 aluminum flywheel all bolts tqed to 85ft/lbs in sequence and
checked 3 times around
9 bolts in the pressure plate all around, as this one takes it.
all the fasteners were loctited on the friction surface of the FW.
ITR PP was used with the CM segmented kevlar disk.
both of these peices were new.
the tranny is GSR and has 80K miles on it.

on the previous clutch which was hodge podge OEM honda:

B16g1 PP
ITR flywheel
LS disk
GSR TOB

the disk failed so I replaced with above parts. that clutch made no noise, only a feathering sound at idle which went away with the clutch de-pressed. someone please advise. without the AC on, if I disconnect the IAC valve and stabilize the idle at 500rpm the tranny knocks like as if the AC were on. this sound goes away when the clutch is de-pressed.

Is this bad for the engine and if so what would be the best course of action?

Thanks,

Mike
