Vtec Cross over???
I'm getting a b16a1 put in right now as i speak and i was wondering when the Vtec kicks in? I'm assuming it's a SiR CPU. And i've heard they have a rev limiter at about 120 is that true??? and if so what can i do about it??? and which is a better Vtec X-over 4400 or 4900??? thanx for answering "all" my questions???
the ecu cut off is 112 I believe. To remove it you will need to get your ecu programed. There are a few reputable people here on HT that can program it for you. As far as the crossover goes both of those seem low for a stock engine I would say closer to 5500 rpms. Someone correct me if im wrong.

the 112 limit is a good thing, i bet if i didnt have it i would be dead.
Mmmm, gotta love 'I think it's'... heheh
I have a PR3 ECU (M/T). VTEC x-over is dyno-verified to be at 4800 rpm. The speed limiter kicks in at 118mph.
Sometime soon I'll get my brother's PW0 ECU (M/T) to the dyno and we'll find out where its VTEC x-over is and that will end this whole debate and debacle of misinformation.
