Default oil light came on today....not low on oil...what could it be?

yea so i noticed that my vtec wasnt kicking in lately and wondered whats up cuz it worked fine like a few weeks ago. so today i was driving and my oil light came on for like 3 seconds and then went off. so i went to my gf's house and let the car cool down before i checked the oil level. it was fine. so i was wondering what possible reasons it could be for my oil light to kick on and my vtec to not work.

Did the oil light turn on while you were engaging a turn or a curve?

oil light = low oil pressure .....which means your oil pump may be bad....this is not good because if your oil pump isn't working then you won't get oil to the head and you could burn up your motor. Vtec uses oil pressure too, to engage vtec which is probably why it doesn't work.
