steering wheel bolts
This is a good one, so here goes: what you first have to do is MAKE SURE the air bag won't explode, so make sure that the thing is disconnected and the shorting connector installed.(if yours has the spring loaded connector for the air bag, it's shorted automatically when you disconnect it)
Then, get a impact driver and put your T30 bit on it, make sure your in the head as square as possible, and try to impact it loose. I've successfully pulled this one off before, so don't give up right away. Keep the pressure on the driver, trying to force it into the bolt head, then wack it.
If that fails, you're only option, short of destroying stuff, is to drill out these t30 torx bolts. That won't be an easy task, they're pretty hard material, but if you use good drill bits, it can be done. You probably won't be able to use an easy-out, way too tight for that. Instead, drill it out gradually, start with around 1/8in. bit, working your way to 1/4 in. Don't drill the bolt out all the way first, just go in the thickness of the head, then move to a bigger bit. The idea is to "pop" the head off the bolt, then you can remove the bag and get the rest of the bolt out with the bag asm on the bench(much easier). If you have any questions, let me know.
