Default New to the Board have a few questions.

Hi all,

I am new to the board not all that new to the scene, but I was wondering if there is a place on this MB where i can find a list of all the do's and Don'ts the Forum guidelines are pretty clear and I can understand that. I read through the Forum Rules and I understand them, but a friend of mine and a long time member of this MB said it could be pretty brutal at times. I am not looking to tell anyone what to do or anything like that just want to listen and learn for a bit. Can you all help me out with some "unwritten rules" of the forum. I know I am a newbie but try and not be to harsh Thanks

Toni
Oh by the way I have a 98 Hatch with very little mods.

One big thing is to search before asking a question, many times the topic has been covered before.

And welcome

Thanks,

I stated above that I have read the forum Rules. However they seem to vary from forum to forum.
Okay say I have searched and I found a topic but it is Archived. Am I still allowed to post to it if it hasn't answered my question exactly?

Don't be worried about making a post if you can't find the answer when searching, basically you'll frustrate people if you post the same question that is posted every two days such as "which is the best motor to swap?"

I see no reason why you couldn't just create a new topic stating that you found the following posts, but would like some clarification.

And use common sense when posting. Most people have it, they just lack the use.

Welcome.

having found what ur looking for and need further explanation just ask..if not try sending a PM to the person u need advise from...they can talk u thru some pretty difficult situations

and yes..time s can get brutal..just use the *search*

most of us can get brutal with certain question s that have been answer d a hundred time s befor..but alone we re usually pretty decent people to chat with

Thanks for the info. I am just here to get a little info not get ripped on cause I ask a dumb question.

I did have a question about the different Forums. there is a TECH forum and thre is an Appearance forum and Road racing and Drag racing etc etc etc...

What kind of material are you supposed to post in the Vehicle specific forums?
This is what I am talking about: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=412954
I really think this needs clarifying cause Just in observing I have seen some ambiguous stuff go on.
I had a question on appearance and I did a search and found a topic, but I can't post in the Appearance section. Well I guess I can just wait the two or three weks till the trial status is over.

Thanks again
