Default big engine swap

one of my buddys has a automatic 2000 civic dx, and he wants to put in a manual tranny and integra non vtec engine... the swap is no prob, but i wanna know if the change from auto to manual is a big job and is it worth the time and money, and if anyone has put a integra non vtec engine in their civic coupe, i wanted to know if the car runs well with the 142 hp engine... is it faster than the integra GS???

thanks

i think the biggest problem is the pedal assembly. the guy that's doing my swap spent like two days getting the old auto pedals out. He said he's never doing an auto to manual conversion again.
