Anyone ever changed crankshaft bearings on a d16z6?
i have a weird noise in my engine and the guy at the honda specialaty place said that its the crank bearings. i have haynes manual. its kinda not through or so i think. the people want 600 to do the crankshaft bearings. i need help on how to do it. please help!!!
if you go to any shop and they say it will cost less then a grand to fix. then you can pretty much figure that you can do it in 2 days or less. and that's if you aren't machanically inclined at all.
You can do it in two days, if you don't need to rework the crank! Otherwise, it'll need a grinding. And while your at it, replace the rod bearings.
if you spun a bearing, then most likeley you damaged the crank and it needs to be machined.
Or, you can just replace it and see what happens....may last forever, may fail soon.
It's not tough though. Buy a Chilton's for 10 bucks...that shows how
ah, I forgot to realize you said "crank" bearings....you're talking main bearings, right??? Or rod???
Rods are much easier than mains, cause mains you gotta drop the crank...which means pulling the engine
