Default b16a w/ GSR crank?

I found a good deal on a GSR crank. My friend tells me that I could SWAP (NO MACHINE WORK) the crank in my b16a for a GSR one with no problems....This a good deal to get some more displacement......I found the crank for $250 btw, is that a good deal?

cant do that... you might need to get custom rods because the B16A block is shorter by a couple millimeters.. your pistons would pop out..

Is there a difference between OBDI and II cranks? Why does it matter what year it's from if the previous questions answer is no.

I believe the OBD2 cranks have a slot for CKF sensor or something and the OBD1's do not. Being that I have a 99 GSR I think the OBD2 crank would be the best one to use. On top of that the chances of finding a crank with low mileage is better with the OBD2 ones. Hope that answers your question.

the crank is the same for all years, Yes the obd2 s have the CAS but its located on the Crank gear, which is not part of the actual crank. Its just sliped on the end when the crank is installed, its runs the t belt. It doesnt matter tho, the CAS throws a code but doesnt send the ECU into limp mode.
