the si tranny has shorter gearing, which is good for acceleration, but when you're cruising out on the highway, your engine will be spinning faster for a given speed. Like 80 mph with a gsr tranny = 4k rpm while an si tranny = 4.5k ish.
So, other than the cruising problem, there's really no drawback in getting an si tranny.
