i got a 96 4dr gsr, will a 2000 SI tranny fit it, and is it something i wanna upgade/downgrade to?

no doubt about it..??? is it any better/ worse than a gsr tranny?

 

the si tranny has shorter gearing, which is good for acceleration, but when you're cruising out on the highway, your engine will be spinning faster for a given speed. Like 80 mph with a gsr tranny = 4k rpm while an si tranny = 4.5k ish.

So, other than the cruising problem, there's really no drawback in getting an si tranny.

Oh, no doubt. It'll fit.
