Default Is Running Open Header Bad???

Ok This isnt my question so dont talk **** to me...thanks .....Ok My cousin wants to know if running open header is bad? because about 2 days ago his car got stolen but the next day they found it. However, just with in that one day the thieves managed to take his RS*R exhaust system, his Car-Sound Cat, and his J's Racing CF intake. But for some odd reason they didnt take his ROTA RNR look alikes or the Apexi VAFC, but ne-ways he is foced to roll around open header until he buys a new exhaust system but until then he wants to know if open header will hurt his b16? But he said the only thing he likes about the open header is his VTEC Kicks in Loud As FUKK! ..what a weenie ok so please Tell Him Your Thoughts

Nope it will not hurt the engine at all, it will hurt the ozone thats about it. Just don't run with no header at all.

NO!!!! You will gain 10+ HP by not running with a cat or exhaust...the downside...it is crazy illegal and if you're pulled over you face like a $3,000 fine...

but no, it wont hurt the motor, but it might hurt your bank account if you're caught

Yeah if the engine is still cold I suppose, and you redline it.

Sorry to hear about your cousin's car. At least he found it in one piece. Stupid NOOB thieves!! In the Communist state of Cali, I doubt he'll make it more than one day without getting caught/impounded. This is why you should keep your stock parts. Stock POS exhaust would come in handy right now.

yes it is bad to do, if you don't have enough back pressure you can burn your valves up and like peagreenhatch said, possibly bend them.

I dunno about that.

I have driven around for months open header on my H22, and even run at the track all the time open header.
