97 civic exhaust questions????????
i have a 97 civic with a greddy turbo kit and i was wondering what turbo exhaust to go with. i was looking for one that gives a deep sound i dont want a weed wacker. also should i get 2.5" or 3" pipes not sure if it will be over kill.
3" exhaust won't really do much good over 2.5" until you get into the really high horsepower range.
A lot of people say that less backpressure is always the best way, but I have seen motors larger than ours with bigger turbos pushing more boost than ours suffer from a 3" exhaust in the low rpm range.
A 2.5" is probably all you will need, and a good straight through muffler.
I would recommend getting an exhaust custom bent, you can save a lot of $$$ and know that it is done right, and the way you want, plus you can get pretty much any muffler with any pipe size you want.
If you really want a 3" then my recommendation would be the thermal research one. I have heard them before, I think they sound great, and they are a high quality system.
