Default I'm starting to get ticked off... My engine is on crack.

I have a D15B7 in my DX (MPFI), and I just replaced the head gasket because my last one blew. I also swapped the rocker arm assembly and cam for an Si assembly. Everything was done right (this time), timing is right on 0*, I lubed evertying properly, and torqued everything properly. My problem is, the engine won't hold idle, and takes forever to rev up. My only idea is that there is too much resistance in the head... Sometimes the car doesn't even start. And when it dies in the middle of a busy intersection and doesn't start up again, its pretty embarassing. Anyways, any suggestions? Should I put the original rockers back in or what? Oh, by the way, I put the B7 (at least I think its stock) cam back in with the Si rocker assembly and torqued and timed everything again, and its the same problem.

Oh yeah, throwing no codes. And everything worked fine before that damn head gasket.

Lol, Sounds like the classic main relay.

I thougth there was something about the Si cam has a different timing mark than the DX...a timing problem could be causing your woes

I was having the problem with both cams, the B7 and the A6. I am using the AEM Tru-Time cam gear, and I've always heard that the two straight lines should be even with the top of the head, and the degree reference thing should be on the bottom. But I've noticed, that line doesn't line up with the timing mark on the head.

Just for argument sake, the last time I had it running before the head gasket blew, it ran great. Pulled as hard as ever. I had the cam gear lined up even with the head (which would make the degree reference off with the head), and it ran just fine. No back fires or anything. I haven't busted out the timing light on either way, so I don't know which is right.

I'll check out my distributor, but what I don't get is the car ran just fine before this new head gasket... Why would the dizzy go bad from just sitting there?

Cam Timing
There are only 2 ways
Most Hondas the timing marks are paralell with the head
Only 88-91 d16Si are different where they use the lower mark
Try it both ways
You might have to use a Si distributer as well

Sorry guys, I'm not doing a very good job of explaining tonight... I have the Si dizzy. I have tried both the A6 and B7 cams with the A6 rocker assembly. I've always timed even with the head, and that dizzy was on there when I bought it. I'm getting hacked off because I've had it for almost 3 months and have driven it 209 miles.... every week there's a new problem.

What would I check for with the main relay?
