I was thinking about rebuilding my teg engine, what all would I need to replace?
I have a head from a 99 CRV (B20) so I do not need to know the top end stuff.
I know I will need to replace:
Main Bearings
Rod Bearings
possibly bore .25 over IF I do the below P30 Pistons and rehone
If no bore/P30 then hone only.
Rings
Replace head gasket & head bolts "studs"
Oil Pan gasket


I am also thinking about using USDM B16A (P30) Pistons in it to yield higher compression, has anyone done this and is it just drop-in?

I would leave stock Revlimiter in effect.

Would it be possible to run a stock computer with stock maps or will I need an AFC or have my ecu (OBD 0 keep in mind) chipped and I am an auto as this is my DD?

 

I was going to put a B20 on my engine when I did the rebuild, but I couldn't find one. Well actually I did find one but the Old Cougar that was trying to sell it wanted twice as much as it was worth. I told her she was crazy.

U should do the rebuild and let us know how it goes.

 

insted of using the crv head just keep your stock head. it should be fine

 

with 137k and a missing rocker arm it will not be fine (yeah i know i did not say that) and only one valve adjust @ 15k.
and a leaking cam seal it was a better investment to replace the head than to repair the old one. this is all due to the previous owner being a retard...

anyone know where i can get one ( 99-01)
