VA kart enduro sun 9/14, anyone?
Okay everyone, the enduro season is about to start back up at G-Force Karts here in lovely Richmond VA.
The first event in the series is Sun Sept 14 from 3-6pm. It will be 120 minutes or 300 laps (whichever comes first), for teams of 3-6 drivers per kart, for just $220 per team. This is cheap, fast, competitive, super fun wheel to wheel racing. And there is nothing else going on that day within 500 miles of here that I know of! Details are at this link.
Anyone? Cortez? MM krew? Mike P? Solosol?
If you can't form a team I have seats on my team, $40 each, run til you drop.
C'mon down, it's a blast I promise

There's gotta be a facility like this up there somewhere... I know they're in Boston, DC, Richmond, and Charlotte...
PS- NJ/PA is only a 4-5 hour drive from G-Force, c'mon down

VIR is about 8 hours from my house. I would be so down for the drive if I didn't have classes. . .

There was, but they recently changed the track (shortened it along the pit straight to make 3 pit lanes, for 4hp junior / 6.5hp adult / 9hp super karts) and I haven't yet had a chance to scan and post the new (week-old) track map, sorry!
It's ~1300 feet long with 14-15 turns, depending who you ask. The most recent (not current but accurate on 90% of the course) map is at:
http://www.get-fast.net/kart/trackmap03.jpg
The current differences apply only to the area "two squares up, five squares across" relative to the pit lane detailed on the above map. That area has essentially been shortened (i.e. pushed "upward" on that map) to make room for 3 pit lanes instead of one, although it retains the same angles and conceptual approach, but due to shorter length and faster entry the lap times have dropped as a result. A competitive lap time in the 6.5hp regular karts (the ones used for enduros) is now in the low 24 second range... making 300 laps in 120 minutes that much more attainable, finally

Stay tuned for an updated map soon...

OT but that did look like an action-packed race at RIR tonight. What the hell happened right after the finish - who was trying to fight who? By that time we were in a bar and we couldn't hear what was happening while it was on tv.
Jon
who tailgated at RIR all afternoon but couldn't afford $85 for a grandstand seat

Call me dumb (or too lazy to read the website thoroughly), but what does $220 cover? Suits, kart rental, helmet rental, gas, etc? Or is that extra?
Way OT: you're sellin' the Miata ALREADY? Jeebus.

LOL good question. $220 covers all that stuff. G-Force is an "arrive and drive" facility so the enduro entry fee covers karts (if you break yours just pit-in and get another one), helmet loan, driving suit loan, kart gas, etc. JUST SHOW UP WITH A TEAM AND DRIVE AS HARD AS YOU CAN... yes it's that cheap and easy!
