Do you think the 5th gen lude should be lowered if...?
I'm wondering if I need to lower the 5th generation prelude which has a body kit. Lets say a Blitz Battle Z front bumper, Black Widow rear bumper and some sort of skirts. I don't want the car to be too low and hitting on every little bump, but I want it to be may be 1.5 inches lower than stock height, just for the purpose of looks. So what do you think? And if you have pics of non-lowered preludes with body kits, then please post them here!
most inv4der styl3 y0 kits are much lower then stock, and you will have to be very careful.
that being said, a car with a body kit at stock ride height looks horrible.

If you're putting apperence ralated modifications on your car which do next to nothing as far as improving performance then you DO NOT need need suspension. And the complete opposite is true if you do suspension modification, because the idea is that if you do suspension mods then you're either going to auto-x, drag it, or road race it. In which case adding goofy side skirts and "body kits" is pointless b/c of the risk of bashing the hell out of them on the road course or auto-x course.
If apperence ----> then no to suspension.
If suspension ----> then no to apperence.

I have to disagree with you on this....some people drop it because they dont like the nasty wheel gap...thats what i did and then when i realized my car was on rails i said lets see what it can do.....that being said i like to tear up my twisties on a daily basis

Yet another opinion--You are after a look and that is fine. If the parts are already near the pavement then you will tear them up by lowering the car. Trust me-my 99 Base is lowered with stock bodywork and the front has scraped the tow hooks on several speed bumps. On a road course it will compress on really tight turns with my present setup, but does not scrape the tow hooks. Having the Type S (real one) front airdam is not a problem compared to the WW RS one as it is only slightly lower than the bumper cover itself.
Advice here is to measure everything very carefully after you put the kit on-then decide if any amount of lowering is worth the risk.

5th gens look ridiculous without being dropped, and having a kit will make it look that much stranger. Anytime a kit or wheels are going on a car, it needs to be lowered.
As for the kits you named....

Did you drop your car or is it stock height? It looks low enough and I wouldn't go further, so that's why I am confused about whether I would need a drop or not.

You still have some good clearance, thanks to your big wheels. I can only get the toe of my shoe under my car.

His car is lowered. If you put any kind of kit on your lude and don't lower it, it'll definitely look ridiculous.
You should look around at some other options before throwing on new bumpers though...the Wings West RS kit is really clean (similar to the picture above) and the OEM kit is great and you wouldn't really have to worry about scraping with it.

Needs to be dropped. That is way to high.

it looks just fine to me. You don't wanna go scratching the pavement and your bumper, right? I've seen a white 4th gen prelude in my city, it was just painted or something and it is like 1 inch off the ground. A few months later I look at its front bumper and it looks like a torn ****. Very nice...
