Default Those of you who have replaced bushing in the rear LCA's.

I'm in the process of installing 5 lug on an EG, one of the friggin LCA bolts on the drums broke on me, and I have an extra LCA with me, but the strut bushing is all ripped out.

What I did is went to Honda and purchased another bushing from 'em, however, the damn bushing won't come out. I've talked with friends as far as having the metal ring that goes around the bushing pressed out, and the new bushing pressed in, I was just wondering for those of you who have "been there done that" had to say.

What's your advice?

If pictures will explain better, I'll definitely jump on some.

TIA.

Im not too sure what the metal ring looks like but if its straight through and atleast half an inch in diameter you can probably take a hacksaw to it. Just cut a slit in the metal ring and it should come loose.

Without a press it's a pain.

Like he said above, remove the rubber part so it's just the metal outside shell remaining.
Draw a hacksaw across it until the outer shell is split.
Use a screwdriver to bend and pry and drive out the outer shell.

I used a torch on my f150 it take some time but works if you don't have access to a press.
I used a press on my civic

Thanks guys. That ring is a pain in the ***.

With that press, what did you guys do to get that ring in there? Seems like it's a very tight fit. Just hope to not screw up the bushing.

I'll get some pics up to better explain.
