Is Your Dipstick This Close to Your Header?
Don't mind the dirty engine...
I just changed my oil on Saturday and my dipstick position was still ok that day. I checked my oil levels this afternoon and I noticed that it was a lot closer to the header than before. I haven't done anything but drive the car the past couple of days. I checked if the dipstick tube was loose but it was on there nice and tight. I also made sure that the dipstick was not bent. Is this something that's always been like that and I haven't noticed it till today or did something move that wasn't supposed to?

You betta believe it. My warranty's about to run out soon so I'm just doing a once over just to make sure everything's OK.
It turns out my car's suffering from a case of loose dipstick tube once it's warmed up.

I've been having the same problem. When the engine's cold, it's fine. As soon as it heats up, the dipstick tube comes out with the dipstick. I'm just going to JB weld it back to the block.

</TD></TR></TABLE>[....]As for my loose tube, it doesn't seem to be leaking any oil but I'm gonna get the dealership to replace the junx anyway.

I remember a thread about a loose toob on here a long time ago... Can't remember the outcome though.

hey, i made a mistake. you want the bend to be poiting up. i just happened to spot it when i was checking my oil tonight. if the bend is up, it points directly towards you.
you cant see the tube, but its pretty even between the 2 tubes.

This is exactly what happened to my car as well.
I cleaned it, applied Hondabond and reinstalled it and and voila no more problems.
