getting closer and closer to swap.
alright this is what i have so far:
95LS motor (w/new headgasket, and timing belt.
99si tranny
TypeR clutch,PP
resurfaced flywheel
99LS ECU
97LS distributor(gotta pick it up from work)
95LS halfshaft(in the middle of shipping right now)
96integra axels(gotta pick it up from work)
I know i still need:
the front motor mounts from an SI
the rear motor mount from an SI
shiftlinkage from a 94+ integra
I got the motor still in my car and i think i can borrow a few little things like sensors and stuff.
I NEED TO KNOW IF I AM MISSING SOMEHTING IN THE LINE UP HERE. I ALWAYS FORGET ABOUT THE LITTLE THINGS AND NEED TO MAKE SURE I AM NOT FOGETING ANYHTING. WILL THE LS ECU PLUG RIGHT IN?

Hmm, so I supose your turning your OBD1 95 LS motor to an OBD2 motor and are going to reuse your stock harness. You can use the injectors off of your stock motor because they squirt the same amount out. The alternator will have a different connector on it, but i say you can just cut the plug off of the LS harness and solder it up to your stock EK harness. I believe your going to need a crank fluxuation sensor, not sure from where though.
What year EK do you have and which model. If you have like a cx or dx where the cat was located on the header, your going to have to weld up a bung for a O2 sensor somewhere after your cat (which you might have to get welded on also). Thats all I can think of as of now, I may of repeated things you already have said.

I just saw that you said you got a 99 LS ecu. All 99-00 ecus have a different three plug connector then the 96-98 ecus. 99-00 ecus are OBD2.5 and 96-98 ecus are regular OBD2. If you plan on reusing your stock harness the 99 LS ecu will not work. You must get an ecu from 96-98 if reusing your stock 97 harness.
I believe that he is turning is OBD1 motor to OBD2 hence him buying the 97 distributor. By doing this he will be able to just use his stock 97 harness on the motor.

i'd lovew to do that but the car is OBD2. yes i plan on using the old harness. are you sure there is a difference between the 99-00ecu and the 96-98ecu?
I have a 97 DX hatchback.
I guess i forgot to mention that

He told you that he wanted to convert his OBD1 motor to OBD2. Yeah and I am positive that the 99-00 ecus use a different plug then the 96-98 ecus. I've heard of people selling OBD2 to OBD2.5 converters, but why spend another 160 bucks when you can probably grab a 96-98 ecu from a LS integra at a junkyard.

damn?! aight thats cool. how about the O2 sensor? i have a b16 header. would it be possible to somehow get the wires to just go around the back of the motor and use the stock bung for the O2 sensor there? as for the stock harness should the 97 LS distributor. should it go onto the stock harness place for the 97DX distributor? the alternator is something i have kinda overlooked. is there any way i can use the DX alternator for the time being until i get a new one for an LS?

The B16 header will have one bung for the primary O2 sensor on it. You will probably have to take the car to a muffler shop once the swap is put in to weld up a cat and a bung to the pipe that is after the header. Since you have a 97 hatch the 97 LS distributor connector should be the same, so it should hook up to your harness fine. If you motor swap came with a wiring harness then you can just cut the connector for the alternator off and solder it into your stock 97 hatch harness. You will just have match the colors from what i remember. I doubt that b series alternators are the same as d series ones, but you never know.
I kinda researched this when I was about to do this swap but opted to just convert my 97 hatch to OBD1 because I am lazy.

well with a OBD1 conversion, i would have to have a OBD1 harness right? what else OBD1 would i have to have? plus how would you inspect it if it was OBD1 in an OBD2 car? plus i didn't get an OBD! distribuot with the motor it was just a longblock minust the electronic stuff
Well I'm using my stock 97 CX's wiring harness on my OBD1 B16. I have a OBD2 to OBD1 wiring harness converter to connect up to my OBD1 ecu. I am not sure what is going to happen when I go through emissions. I've heard that the people are actually plugging into the diagnostic ports under the driverside dash, but I'm not sure. I might be screwed on that......If I were you I'd keep it OBD2 like you are doing. It looks as if you got most of the parts already. You just need to get a OBD2 alternator.

easier said than done
alright but what you are saying is that the only big problems i am going to face when i get the swap put in is the cat, O2 sensor, alternator, and the different ECU?
for now i htink i am goign to focus on the alternator and the ECU. the cat and O2 sensor is just for emission purposes right? so i really won't need to worry about them until i needto get inspection? thanks again for all your help aw1234dude.

Yeah right now I would really just worry about finding an ECU and alternator. I'm pretty sure you can run without a second O2 sensor plugged in. If you are lucky like I was your B16 header will bolt straight up to your midpipe so that you will run basically no cat straight pipe. It will be pretty loud but itll give you some time to go get all the muffler stuff and O2 sensor stuff done.
Ohh yeah you have to get a crank fluxuation sensor and mount it near the crank. I'm not sure if you can reuse your old d-series one or if you need to get one off a b-series.

where exactly does the crank flux sensor go? is there an exsisting hole for it or how should i do that? what is the worst thing that could happen if i don't put in the crank flux sensor?

just to clear things up, how to convert an obd1 motor to obd2:
-swap injectors from ur obd2 motor
-rewire distributor to obd2, or buy obd2 distributor
-rewire altenator to ob2 or buy obd2 altenator
-add crank sensor
the primary 02 sensor plug needs to be extended so it can reach the 02 sensor in the header. the other 02 sensor goes in ur new cat. (dx ek's have 2 02 sensors right??)
theres a chance that ur civic altenator and/or distributor may fit on the b-series block.

taken your car to the track yet? i am kinda curious what numbers this setup might run when i get it all together.
just to clear up everyone saying the same thing. i need the crank flux sensor. an OBD2 alt, and an OBD2 distributor? if the car wil run w/o 2 O2 sensors i am going to run it without them for now(i will at least try to keep 1).
