Paint job time! And pearl??
OK, give me your thoughts on this. I have a 93 Civic coupe that I'm going to repaint white. I'm stuck on whether or not to add pearl to it. I'm spending about $2000 on this and would like it to stand out so you can tell it's a new paint job. Some of my concerns are that it won't look right when I tint the windows and get darker rims. Should I add pearl to it?? Does anyone have pictures of how it would look?
personaly i think pearl white looks dirty all the time and if you want it to look like a new paint job pearls wouldnt be the way to go ..ive leard my leson
you got 2K to spend on a paint job .. i would put more time in the body work .. like make sure you wet sand it and do a good job dont want any orange peal .. then use a really good quality paint (ppg, deupont, Houseofcolor,) or glazoric(sp) is a super nice paint(exotic cars ect)
i would look more into metalics then pearls .. even candys although ive never really seen a candy white paint job .. but it sounds nice.. and you can never have to much clear

You know what, I never thought about it looking dirty all the time. I was more worried about it being too shiny and sparkly. Since then to worried about how it's going to look, I'm just going to keep it the way it is now. The guy doing my bodywork has already started on the car. He went through the entire car and fixed all the imperfections and rust already. When he had it in the shop, he found four times as much little dings then we found at home. He pretty much resurfaced the whole hood. This guys worked on some pretty expensive cars before so I'm sure I'm going to get a good paint job done.
hey man i didnt want to shoot down your dream of a bad *** paint job .. i just wanted let you know how i feel about pearl paint jobs .. i have a black/blue pearl paint .. and its just not shinny enough for me, and ive seen what your talking about .. caddilac uses alot of pearls and it looks like white with dust all over it .. i dont know .. i like other pears .. .. but ill find that pic of that white crx with a pearl and show you what i mean
It's no problem. It's just I can't really picture how it's going to look so I'm thinking be safe and don't add it since I might regret it later. Did you see the post about the premium white pearl on the new TSX? That paint looks good.
I have seen Cadillac's and they do look dirty but the color is more of a off-white. I'm keeping mine as white as possible.
