Default Aussie ITR stock Dyno results

heys guys
finally put my r on the dyno, very confused results.
final numbers where 129hp and approx 110 ftlb or torque on a dynodynamics dyno in 4th gear.
No correction was taken into account and the temp was approx 16 degrees celcius.
what my questions i would like to know, why do you guys in the USA using dynojets get much higher results etc
i know that over all a dyno should be used to judge improvements and that peak numbers dont really matter, and improvement does.
I recall Mugan R from Sydney posting dyno results a bit earlier and my results seem to be on par with his stock numbers

could someone who can post pics give me there email and i'll email u my run so that they can display on the board
thanx

In the US they use the SAE norm which gives you a little bit higher numbers. But 129 hp is quite low. What kind of norm do you use in Aus? DIN? ECE? Japanese?

DIN? ECE? Japanese? dont know what that means
we used correction factor of 1.000
ive pulled a 14.8 with a 2.45 60ft time, so that car does pull, its just the dyno results that puzzle me

In the US they use different conditions when measuring HP. That SAE. ECE is the european standard. DIN is the German standard. In Japan they have this PS instead of HP. Example: In Europe the ITR has stock 190 HP ECE at the crank (11.1 compression). In the US the ITR has 195 HP SAE with 10.6 compression. Both versions have the same complete exhaust system.

hey ITR 99, those numbers seem about right, expect anywhere from 90 to 96kw at the wheels for a stock Type-R. You cant compare our figures against the yanks, our dynos are calibrated differently with varying loads and other variables. Seems we have a different standard so to speak.

Both versions have the same complete exhaust system.
USDM and JDM DO NOT have the same exhaust...

What type of ramp rate did you have for the dynamic dynometer? At Comptech they had it set to .60 for my car.

SIMple.

THe dyno you used was a Dyno DYNAMICS - (most likely in oz), which is an endyn dyno - it does not work on a roller principle like Dyno Jets.

Endyn dynos are not comparable AT ALL to a roller dyno, they will ALWAYS give a lower power relative to a roller dyno.

However, you can:
1) use it for % comparisons; and
2) use it for tuning much easier since you can hold an rpm and get a dyno reading, unlike a roller dyno which has to have a complete rpm run.

Tze: At last ... a technical reason for this discrepancy. Thanks Tze.

ITR99: this has been noticed many times, and it's not related to the ITR. Don't worry about it. Your figure is ~95kW is pretty normal. Mine dynoed at 94kW @ wheels. I have seen a number of other dyno plots from stock ITRs on dyno dynamics dynos, and they are all around that figure. So don't panic ;-}
