OT:Claimed dyno numbers for RSX?
I have seen some post here and on other web sites saying that the RSX type-s has dyno at around 185whp. Now these people seem to be excited about this and I wouldn't be if I were them. Using a 18% drivetrain loss that would mean they have 222 crank hp. Now that seems cool except the car isn't magically gonna get any faster now that you it puts down more horsepower. Let me explain what I mean. My car is stock and I have only been able to muster a 14.7 pretty much a stock time according to lots magazines. On saturday I'm going to the dyno and if my car put down 175-180 whp first reaction might be oh damn I must of got a good one of the litter (considering most R's dyno in the 160-165whp range), but I would actually be bummed because my car still runs 14.7. Now if it ran 14.2 stock and then put 175-180whp to the dyno then I would be excited because I got a good R. Because the performance is matching the numbers. So on saturday I hope I hit the normal range of 160-165 not low and not high. The overall point is even if the RSX is putting down all that horsepower it sure isn't showing it because there still slower than the Integra R(unless there drivetrain loss is only 8% in which case this whole post will self destruct in 7 seconds)
Note: please spare the comments about "Damn your R only went 14.7 stock mine went 14.4" blah, blah, blah save it for a different post. Then we can talk about at what elevation, temp, wind and all those kinda of factors or that i'm a bad driver or something.
