USDM 2001 Type R Head ON a 1.6 B16a Second Gen Block..?
I have the USDM Type R 2001 Head sitting here.
I wanted to know will their be an increase in power I know I need a Type R Block to but I don't want to buy a block yet...
So if you have had experience or have seen this setup what numbers does it put down..
Just want to get an Idea...
I have seen 1 person with this setup if I recall right he was doing around dyno tuned and tested at 178whp @ 8600 and 124trq...

it would be pretty much the same as putting type R cams on a B16 head.
The B16 and B18C5 heads are identical. Honda does some porting and polishing on the C5 head, but not enough to make a drastic difference.
Actually it's a super tame port and polish that is limited to the very last bit of port just as the mix goes into the chamber.

i agree with what was just said on the adding itr cams to the b16, what i think you mean boss is a cheap mans itr, adding a b16 head on a gsr block and internals making about 178 hp, they can make more just depends on how you tune em. but generally from what i hear the b16a2 makes about 150 to the wheels (170 crank) so im assuming it's about a 10 hp to the wheels gain, i might be wrong so youd be looking at 160ish to the wheels, just a guess from a nobody, someone else could have better numbers for you but that's my .02
add i/h/e get better results

You should put it on, you have leaking valve seals anyway, right? Plus , the mild port, the higher reving springs, the better cams, should help a bit. Plus, its newer than the old *** gen 1 b16 head. Sell the head on ebay, and rock the itr. Yes its the same head, but its worth the switch, especially cause of your seals. Ryan
