'91 si hatch - trying to fit these 16x8 +50 wheels.....
Anybody running 16x8's? What will I need to modify to make them fit?
I have no problem rolling/ flaring the fenders.....
I intend to run a 225/40/16 on some 16x8, +50 wheels..... Spacers are optional.
With a good drop, what will need to be modified?
This car is mostly for autox, and a little road racing.....

All these tires are bricks. I'm trying to use a 225/45/16, but all I can find is the 225/50 variety. The new hankook ventus z211 R cmpd tire is "coming out" in the 225 40 size, but it's still in development (i.e., a long ******* ways away... ) Either way, you'ld be better of using a 215 45 16 azenis in the interim , than any of the time you've got listed as the 215 azenis is comprable to most (if not all) other manufactures 225 tires.

.....running a 225/45/16 isn't out of the question. It's just taller, which kinda sucks. 215 azenis isn't BAD, per se - just kinda skinny for a 16x8 imho..... but the stickiness does seem to make up for it (street tire sticky, not sticky tire sticky.....)
But the main purpose of this thread was the fitment of that size/ offset wheel on an EF.....

Sorry, I was unclear. What I tried to say was, that, for a decent tire (i.e. sticky) the 225 45 size does not exist. So, there's only a compromise default; either you go with a 215 45 , or a 225 50. My reason for interjecting here (although not answering your question directly) was to stop you from buying a set of **** poor tires to try and accomodate your wheel fitment issue; in summary, either opt for the smaller 215 45 azenis, or go for a 225 50 size in the other selections (i.e., ecsta v700, kumho ecsta mx, et. al. ) Lastly, if you do opt for the 215 45 azenis you'll abate your fitment issue as you'll be using a smaller and shorter tire. Good luck.
