i would say single for making hp/tq because of its better flow characteristics.

On an otherwise stock S2000 there are no power gains and in many cases power losses with aftermarket exhausts. A single design is preferable, simply because they are harder screw up manufacturing, and typically weight the least. However, they also tend to be the loudest. Basically there is a trade off, but shaving up to 40lbs of weight can be of some benefit.

Here is our dyno on the dual kit.

Here is one for our single kit

There are some minimal gains but still better than most.

Thanks,

wtf?
alright, sorry. it's just opinion.

meh, i like the single over the dual, even aftermarket duals.. cuz it's better for HP, and stuff. even if it doesn't offer that much more HP. i still like single.

but yeah.

Am I retarded or does the dual kit make more power? I thought everyone was saying that the single makes more power?? Did someone just switch the dyno #'s around?

Is there some replacement valance for the rear? Single would be great to have, but it would look awkward with that hole in the valance on the left being empty I think.

But when you look at the dyno charts above they state a different story. I am pretty sure that the 1st dyno states dual muffler and it makes more power. Then the second states its a single muffler and that makes less power. Granted they were dyno'd on different days where temp and humitity can effect the chart. But I am positive that it says the first one makes more power.

I see what you are saying. You are looking at the total power. However, everycar is different especially in this case. You have to look at the difference in power gained. The first dyno is from an '02 and the second dyno is from an '00. From experience, the '02 make about 5 to 10 hp more stock. Not sure why Honda did this but the ecu on the '02 are advanced for more power. Then in '03, the timing was retarded back to match the '00 and '01. I think I'm about to get flamed here.

hmm the 02/03 ECU have the same part number, i believe they're the same exact thing. 00 = 01 , 02 = 03

A lot of times honda will have updates for ECU flashing for whatever reason. (eg. emissions) But if you know how to use the HIM (Honda Interface Module) you can just transfer previous ECU maps into yours. Like I said I was bored and it didn't really make a difference . That's a fun little device though. Takes forever to upload. Damn '03 Accord updates .
