Any talk of HC starting up in the Northeast??
Hey all,
I'm on this board a lot and primarly RRAX. Unfortunately NASA isn't very active up here in the New England area but I was wondering if there's any talk about a Honda Challenge series starting up here in the Northeast. We have one of the most active SCCA regions and there are a lot of competitors. Unfortunately there's probably a shortage of available track time up here but I was wondering if there has been any talk whatsoever. I would be much more inclined to go w2w if there was an HC up here. NEHC sounds pretty cool.

not without NASA. team continentals involvement of a race for the series outside of a NASA event is just a one time thing previously negotiated. i doubt youll get any response with SCCA.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I was just wondering if this would at all be possible. I don't know how much involvement NASA has up here (not much i don't think) but was wondering if HC would have a chance at all.

WDCR SCCA has kicked the idea of a Honda Spec class around in the past year. The main concern is how to add weight to each class of car to make the playing field even.
NASA Northeast is growing, and has a goal of offering wheel to wheel racing in the northeast in the immediate future. The biggest problem is that the area has so many racing/track groups that it's hard to get good track dates. I doubt it will be its own series, but I would love to see VA and NE work together to have an ECHC that truly covers the coast.

yeah, that's the first thing that came to mind. People line up and have the same dates for years for NHIS and LRP. I'm sure the same is true for Watkins Glen and Pocono.
