I think the valve cover is the same color as the b18c5's.. but thats about all they have in common I think....

Brings up a question though, the accord is and f20b. Is there anything in common between the two?

probably similar block.

when my 94 accord was stock, it had the f22b1 motor too, and i alway wondered what f-series motors had in common...

similar block as in the outside? cause all the internals are diff on the f20c1 motor than the others..... the f20b is from an accord SiR right? isnt the f20b almost like an h22 but with a shorter stroke? I thought the H and F series had some blocks/trannies that bolt up to each other so I wonder what is interchangeable from an f20c1, probably nothing but its just a guess......

theres two types of f20b's i know of. one is very similar to the h23, its a nonvtec DOHC motor.

the other was the SiR engine, basicallty the h22a with shorter stroke.

The F-Series in the Honda S2000 is an exception to the Honda naming rules. There was an older F-Series that was used in the Accord, etc. However, the F-Series resembles the K-Series a lot.

similar to k-series because it uses a timing chain?

from the best of my understanding, the S2000's F20C motor is a hybrid of sorts. In essence, the block shares the F20B design, slight reworked to mate the F20C's head along with some other minor differences, like oil filter. The F20C's head is just like a K series head or close atleast, just with no IVTEC. My theory is honda finished designing the F20C's head before the K series was ready. They wanted to release the car, so they modified an older F20B block for the K series head. I think this is one of the reasons why they are releasing the new S2000 with the increased displacement with I-VTEC and all the other goodies that wernt ready for the S2000.

Hot Rod magazine did a special explaining all this a couple of months ago. I also believe the F20C1RWD spins counter-clockwise like the K20A.

Now heres my question...will your F20 springs fit on my K20 so that I can rev to 8800rpms+ with the K20A Type R camshafts, pistons, skunk2 retainers and Hondata K20A reflash, and not have to spend the xtra $300(thats a JDM Intake manifold) on TODA springs. Anyone??
