I know the crossover VTEC point is 6200rpm and was also suggested by my tuner DSR. But my question is if i change the curve to say 4400rpm, would the powerband be ruined with lag. I just want to have a VTEC curve with 4400-9000 with good power, is it posible?...has any1 done this with GOOD results??

My std reply:
go to dyno
Set VTEC at 9000 and do a run
Set VTEC at 3000 and do a run
from the two graphs you can find the optimum crossover.Area under the graph needs to be as large as possible..
good luck..

There is NO ONE CERTAIN CORRECT crossover. Every motor is different, and will respond differently. These cams usually have VTEC set anywhere from 5500-6200. You just have to spend the time to tune it to see what your motor likes.

what a ****** idiot..... there is no one point that always works perfect
anyone got these cams in a 2.0L engine? just got our b20vtec back, tryin to get the car tuned good enough to break it all in so we can hit the dyno later this week

I have a hondata s200 waiting to be installed, but some of my freinds are running the chipped p28(skunk2) on their cars and they are agressive in fuel, but there VTEC engages early. I could go with a hondata s200 w/p28 or chipped p28? wheres every1's Vtec point with the Hondata..also if any1 has any dyno graphs it would help

your WHP doesnt matter on the VTEC crossover point...it doesnt matter when it crosses over, as long as you are in VTEC while you are making peak HP, then it doesn't matter...VTEC crossover is to make sure you have optimum power across the powerband...

i know the crossover doesn't necassarily affect the peak hp, but i was just letting everyone know where i had the crossover and what kind of hp my car was making w/ stage 2's.
