I just installed my new motor and everything but there was something wrong with the clutch and my car wouldnt go into gear... i am pretty sure its the throw out bearing so i am taking the tranny back off to check out everything..
Well i have everything off the tranny that needs to be... all the bolts are undone and there is nothign holding the tranny in place or up... but i cant get the damn thing to seperate from the block.. i have tired to pry the hell out of it... shake it... everything... it is like stuck to the block and i dont know why...

does anyone have any ideas or anything that can help me get this damn tranny off.

All i have to say is:

Check to make sure every bolt is out... then check again. Some of those bastards like to hide from you. Trust me...

 

questions?

1. are the axles removed? (sound stupid and not insulting your technical skills, but we do tend to forget **** sometimes)

2. are all these components removed? or do you notice anything here that you might not have removed yet?


3. is it a hydro or cable tranny?

 

all the bolts are off because there is a gap between the tranny and the block... but i still dont know what is holding the damn thing on... i think it might be the drive shaft maybe.... (the shaft thats in the middle of the tranny)

yes all the axles are out... also it is a hydro tranny

 

when you said you are prying on it, are you binding it somehow or do you have someone to help you evenly pry on it?

 

When I had to do an engine swap I ran into a similar problem. I used a small rubber hammer and pounded it out evenly all around, it seperated pretty easy after the initial inch or so

 

yes i am prying it evenly... tegasaurus is over her helping me and we cant get this over....

we tried to pound it with a rubber hammer and that didnt work... we got it to come off a little farther now and it will rotate on the shaft a little but still wont give...
