Anybody know of someone that does ECU work on 88-91 Dual Point Cars?
We're in need of a rev-limiter bump up or disable.
Can't find anyone that works on anything but the Si stuff.
My motor should easily turn 7200 to 7400 with no issues, but the limiter intervenes at 6800.
Help!

Nope.
Fowler knows a guy who might be able to do it, but he's apparently also some sort of fire jumper and has been out in Oregon/Cali for weeks. Nobody knows how to contact him or when he'll be back fiddling with ECUs again.
What we're looking for is the ability to run the 4.7 final AND the 45 series tires at Road Atlanta. Right now we think we'll need 50s to stay off the limiter at the end of the back straight.

What about ebay chips?
I put one in my integra, just had to solder a socket on to the board ($50 at a local tv repair shop) and the chips are $20/ea with varying redlines.

PM9 is the Civic Standard ECU.
We've got a PM5 in it right now which is the DX brain. Not sure what the difference is, but guessing the DX brain makes it run a bit more richerer. It runs well with that box.
I have a collection of PM5s and PM9s to choose from though.

I've never heard of a chip for a dual point but contact Adrian at

Might be worth it to give Zdyne a call as they are the 88-91 ECU gurus.
The PM6 is easuly chippable as is the PM8. Don't know too much about the Dx ecu.

that is, if you have the correct version of the PM6. Only the PM6 with the on-board EEPROM can be chipped. That would be ECUs that came out of 90-91 cars (hint: it's not that easy to find one...

Yup. Zdyne are the people ur looking for. http://www.zdyne.com/
well, unfortunately you cant use the mpfi chips on the dpfi ecus. that means no ghettodyne or ebay chips. Also the 88-89 ones dont have external eproms so you'd have to use one from a 90-91 (pm9'll work).
You can go to http://www.pgmfi.org then go to the dpfi forum and figure out how to modify the program yourself. The crappy thing is that everyone does swaps so no one cares about the pm5/9. But something like a revlimit change shouldnt be too hard (just got to find the location). If you cant find a stock pm9 bin to play with I can supply you with one. Then if you get it figured out I can burn a new chip for the price of the chip and shipping.

Thanks for the advice guys.
Zdyne and Hondata were the first calls - No dice.
Ben - I'll get back with you. We have a couple of leads to check that might be simpler solutions. If they don't work we'll hit you up.
