He has a 1997 prelude sh..with 80k..his ATTS light is on also....Is his tranny, clutch, etc busted. I drove it myself....once put in 2nd gear it just revs up..Any input will be helpful..thanks in advance

 

do all other gears work...is it drivable?
if so maybe his second gear is out....wont line up

all other gears work...friend told me it might be his clutch...i did a search on the atts light...i found out it can be number of things like vacuum hose clog, ats fluid low, alignment, tires/pressure etc

 

clutch means it WONT GO IN ANY OTHER GEAR...it will not be selective of what gear it will mess up.
I blew my clutch out and I couldnt move my car at all. He may have a bad tranny, bad syncro in the tranny....no telling till you get the trans apart to see where the problem lies. As for the ATTS light, maybe the ATTS system go fucked when he hit a pothole, or swiped a curb really hard. I cant say those things will cause it, thats just what Im saying might be a cause since this is so vauge and your asking something that should be looked at by a mechanic....My best guess though is that his second gear is out and Id have it to a Honda dealer asap!

 

thanks for the info...the tranny could be the concern then...ill let him know the details and for him to head to the dealership
