Default 2 D-series questions

1. I just got my free Y8 and the only thing missing is the main cap girdle. Is it possible to use the main cap from a d15b2 on the d16y8 block and crank??

2. Why does everyone say that the Y8 block is the weakest of the d16s? What makes it that way...

thanks
pat

that doesnt always work....
theres a lot of parts that we know are intercheangeable... and honda lists 2 diff numbers for them....

IMO u just going to have to try to take ur cap into the Y8 and see if it fits....

Keep in mind that if you mix match the girdle and the block you will have to have the block line honed. You may find it cheaper just to buy a whole block. Even if you find a Y8 girdle you will have to have it line honed.
