Default z6 in your rex's

ive come to a cross road, it's either do or die, i have a y8 and a 94 hatch the y8 is of course obd2 and the hatch is obd1, well my question is how do you guys run z6's in your obd 0 cars, do you actually change the wiring harness, ecu and motor, or just motor and ecu and run your wires for vtec, ive come to the conclusion im just gonna sell my eg and get a ef, can some one elaberate z6 mods for a crx? please

You can use all of the obd 0 wiring from the EF if its already multi point fuel injection. The dizzy will bolt onto the z6 head with a lil mods and then you will just need to find a way to run ur vtec, either by means of RPM activated switch or a button if u want ghetto. If you wanna switch over to obd 1 then you can get the conversion harness and run a P28 ecu and just wire the vtec solenoid up to ur ecu like it would be on a 92-95 vtec car. If you go that route you need the z6 dizzy being that u switched to obd 1.

hope that helps a little

1- convert car to OBD1, get a P28 and OBD1 dizzy.... run it like it was stock.
2- use all the OBDO stuff and find a way to activate vtec (msd swtich , VAFC, SFC-vTEC etc)
3- if ur car isnt MPFI u need to convert MPFI first and do #2

one says that ef's are already mpfi, but another says convert if necessary, my question is are 90-91 crx's and hatchs mpfi already or was it only on the si model. or are they all mpfi?

88-91 CRX HF is MPFI

88-91 Civic Si, EX (Sedan), and CRX Si are all MPFI

DXs are not MPFI. The other models are.

Converting to OBDI is the best option IMO. I've done it before and while it's a LOT of wiring work the results are definitely worth it!

Not only is it well worth going obd 1, but the p28 ecu has so many options available for them that you can do anything you want with them

can i just do a complete z6 swap into a 90-91 hb (ecu, motor, axles) and run a wire harness converstion? obd0 to obd1? or is there more to it then that, is there any wiring involved besides vtec?

i dont know a whole lot about going obd1 but, i know that there is at least 1 or 2 more sensors that will need to be wired after the conversion, And i also dont think that the axels from the z6 will fit unless u have an SI hatch?
