Shoot... I put one of those in my friend's PowerWheels last week. Though, I do know someone who reworked the motor in his sons' Power Wheels with custom cut metal gears with taller ratios, extra heatsinks, rewound motor all set to run off 40volts. Stock was 9, I think.

Just because it's $$ doesn't make it bling, boys and girls. Motec is the real shizzle. (Sorry - couldn't resist.) I think that Prodrive (among other WRC teams) uses their stuff, as have a lot of the Formula 2 and Super 1600 (JWRC) cars, Porsche Carrera Cup (Europe), etc... The products range from dash/DA systems to traction control, anti-lag, and a bunch of other trick stuff.

You're thinking of magnetti marelli, not MOTEC. Although the LM versions may have had MOTEC and/or stack displays.

Ok, I found out what it actually was - Bosch "Motronic" for the 512 TR/M, 550, and F50 ... I knew it was Mo-sumthin'...

I quess you guys haven't heard of the MoTec moment.
It occurr just as you are going out from pregrid. Your car won't start and nobody seems to be able to find a problem. Then just as it is too late engine starts and runs fine!!

LOL nice. Im putting electomotive in a Carbed 911 at work. And Half the people there love Electromotive and half hate it and love the motec instead. Its pretty divided here. I stil don't have much motec experience, so I dont know what I like better.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Motec system is action on Clemson's formula SAE kaar. We run a F4i crate motor with a restrictor, so new maps need to be created with the tiite MoTec system. Should be fun times...

I don't remember Clemson's car at the competition. We used a motec system (M4) on our SAE car at the University of Delaware. It's a good system but our engine guy didn't like the operating software. I believe its DOS.
After one year of school and one year on the SAE team...I've retired. Good luck to your team.
