Default Prelude Type S Tranny

Anyone know is this is any different than the UDSM base and SH models?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to my question, just trying to verify.

Actually you could not be further from the truth. The base model USDM and SIR JDM use the same tranny. The JDM SIR s-spec uses a different casing because it has limited slip to accomodate about 10 mm difference in dimension. The Type SH usdm and the Type S JDM use a different tranny than both, the diference comes in the casing as well which is about a 20mm difference, and the final drive is slighlty different in dimension to accomodate the ATTS unit which is located on the left axle. The also use P5P ecu' for the SH and TYpe S along with a standalone unit that controls and monitors wheel speed, cornering force, via sensors and is linked to the ECU feature that monitors ATTS functionability, The type S P5P has even moe functions for the ATTS that monitors braking force being applied while cornering. Other than the casing differences, they are all geared the same so in a way you are right. However the casing are different. Any one will bolt right onto any H22A.

I would have thought the SH and Type-s trannies are exactly the same...
