I figure this is the best place to ask, i just bought a 92 Prelude Si, its stick, and the owner told me its an Si and i believe him cuz he worked with hondas for 15 years, my question is when i got my title for it, it says TYPE: SIR, what the hell does that mean? and are there any real ways to know its an Si other than the VIN number, Hondas are confusing...

 

If it is an si, it will have sticker in the door shim saying "SI4WS". At least that is what my 92 Si says...

I didn't think that all the si's were 4ws. I know that mine aren't. I thought the si just meant that it had the 2.3 and was non V... but on your SiR cereal... do you have leather? b/c my 95 is red with leather and it says SiR but my 94 with cloth just says it's an Si...

someone told me that the leather is a 'special model' I didn't know if they just meant that it was special b/c it had leather or special b/c it had other good stuff done to it...

 

SE is the Special Edition and yes it's got leather interior, as far as SiR, i understood that to be the Si in Canada

 

is there anything else 'special' about the special edition or is it just a 2.3 non v with leather?
