Default New built motor just put in.... tranny problems... HELP!!

We put the new motor in (built internals, amazing head)... New action 2md clutch, resurfaced flywheel, new bearings etc. It wouldn't turn over at first and then tegasaurus found out that the alternator wasn't hooked up correctly, so we hooked it up and now it idles rather roughly... i have some lumpy cams in there for now until the remaing parts of the turbo come in... anywho..
The car starts, gets real lumpy, throws some smoke out of the breather. checked the plugs and they are BLACK. Cleaned them and started it, it started and stayed that way for a little bit.. ok so lets go for a test drive.

It wont go in any gears. Something is wrong with the clutch etc... what do you guys recommend we do? If you turn the car off, put it in a gear, then start it, it'll jerk forward (as if it was in gear). What could the problem be... possibly the throwout bearing? and is there a right/wrong way to put the disc on (flywheel side vs PP side).

Help!

look into adjusting your clutch pedal

you shouldnt have to with the action cause i was running a custom one on my b16 before i sold it, but its possible.

did you grease the TO bearing and input shaft?

what year car is this in?
I am guessing cable clutch? If it is you have it adjusted way too tight. If it is not try it with the pedal half way in. Action is a quick release clutch so you barely push on it and it engages and disengages. I had this problem with my integra. i adjusted it like it was stock and I had the same problem you describe. Back the cable off and give it a bit of slack. If it is hydro you can adjust it by the pedal, but I have not seen this problem with hydro only cable.
