All EF pros please read
I have a 90 dx 4spd Motor was trash so I got a motor from a 92-95 dx.. Im gonna use the old intake manifold and all that trany blah blah blah.. I have taken the motor out and starting switching everything.. So far only 1 problem, on the back of the block there are 2 senors on the old motor, the new motor only has 1. The old motors sensor on the left the bigger sensor thats what the new motor does not have a hole for what do I do? I took the sensor out and it seems to be a coolent temp sensor.. There isnt one on the thermostat area of the old motor.. so im guessing they switched them around in 92.. Someone help ive got the motor out already and its the only thing holding me back... what would happen if i drove without that sensor being used? **** what do I do..
Ok don't shoot me if I'm off ok as I'm sleepy
But the old motor has 2 sensors
1 is oil pressure and 1 has 2 prongs and that is the fan switch
If you look on the new motor that 2 prong sensor should be in the thermostat housing...you have to extend the wires from the old harness to reach the thermostat housing sensor
Thats whaf I had to do on my z6 in my 89 civic
ok let me know if that makes sense.

sorry but he isnt using the right option
the stock harness will not work in that specific pllug on the termosswitch located on the thermostat housing...
this is what u gotta do!
1- look behind ur 92-95 block... where u have that 2 prong sensor, the 5G motor has a plug... take the plug off...
2- go to ur 4G motor and take out that 2 prong sensor.... and then put it on ur 5G motor...
afterwards everything its self explanatory...
this is a normal step when putting a Z6 or any other OBD1motor into a 4G

I wasn't TOTALY WRONG
I just left out the plug part
but he figured it out...so I'm happy
edit: actually you are wrong I didn't pull my sensor out of my old motor I just used the one in the thermo in the 92 and part of a 92 harness so either way you do it and get it to work is right

there u go.... sorry i change the wrong term
but its actually more of a common sense to change the sensors from block to block other than tamperin and soldering and meesin with more of the harnes.s.... specially if u dont have that plug of that harness
yea ur way works.... but my way its more simple
