I'm not sure where the name comes from..
but it is essentially the custom selection of gears to your desired spec...
the range is limited to a few choices...or else the price will be even more exorbitant than it already is to the mere mortal enthusiasts such as myself.....!

as an example.... some people like a shorter 2nd and 3rd gear...but would like to maintain the other gear ratios.... this cannot be accomplished with changing the final drive as it affects all the gears....

Ofcourse...if I'm mistaken ....somebody out there .....beat my statement down and prove I'm wrong...!

your about right there RagingAngel, i think they are known in japan as "cross mission"

anyone know if the ones offered by Spoon are straight cut gears? i would imagine they are great for circuit.

HAhaha Over here in Japan if you were to here a Japanese perdon say "CLOSE" or "CROSS" it sounds the same but what they really mean is Close.. I have brought up this point to my friend that works at Type-One (Spoons new retail store)...Also the gears are cut the same as factory gears..
