which one would be a better swap? the b20 or the h22?
i have a 97 acura 2.2cl. basicly it's an accord in a nicer body. i was thinking about doing a swap. i'm currently deciding between the h22 and the b20.
b20- was used for the crv and the 98-91 prelude. every civic i know that has this swap just and mounds of un-useable torque. they just spin their tires for days before they get any traction. i was thinking "may-be, since my car is heavier, i might be able to use some of the torque." plus if it was able to move a suv, i think it could move my car.
h22- it's a more common swap and might cost me less. i could use my existing tranny and just replace the axles.
so which swap should i do?

The B20 in the preludes and the B20 that "every civic is running around with" are COMPLETLEY differn't motors. Good luck getting one of those into a CL with out someone building you custom mounts. As far as the H22 motor as long as the CL has the same mounting style as the Accord/Prelude you shoudl be fine. For somereason I don't think they are because I've never seen a swaped CL or heard about it before. Don't get me wrong I've seen plenty of modded ones, just most of em just bolt-on's and nitrous or the occasional S/C and once in a blue moon custom turbo. You'd probably have more luck in Tech or Hybrid.
just becuz its a f series motor doesnt mean its the same fseries as the accord....91 preludes are b series but theyre not the same b series as gsr and crv's so it might not work ...i would do more research on that b4 i try it...that sounds like a serious job to me...but maybe im wrong

Absolutley not. And all B20's are non VTEC.

You are never getting a b20 in that car without spending a lot of $$$$
As said earlier the h22 is a better choice for your car and has more torque than a b20.
