Default What Cams for my NA setup? Opinons please.

The setup is as follows

b18a1 block
ITR pistons
GSR head
ported and polished
ITR outer valve springs
portflow inners
skunk2 intake manifold
dc sports 4-1 header
custom exhaust

Now i know skunk2 stage 2 cams make great power but ive heard they love a ton of compression. Im probably around 11.1:1. So i thought about the stage 1's. But for the minimal gains, i might as well go with CTR/ITR. IM CONFUSED!! My goals are 200whp and to be able to run high 13's at the strip. Do you guys think thats attainable with OEM cams?

I think you could get close to 200whp with ITR/CTR's but it's going to take a better header (hytech/smsp/header-tech, basically any of the upper echelon headers) 2.5'' exhaust and hondata. Plus a whole lot of really good tuning. If you upped the compression you could increase your chances of reaching 200 whp.

thanks for the advice. what do you think id be looking at hp wise with the setup i listed? the only thing thats kept me from upping the compression is that im in cali and i heard its a no-no to run like, 12:1 on 91 octane.

u can run 12.1 compression on 91 octane as long as u have like an v-afc or hondata so u can tune the car....my choice of cams would be toda b's...but then u have to run their valve springs..and i dont know if u wanna invest in them since u have some alrdy...but i think they make really good power and the idle is real good too...a friend of mine had a type r with toda b's and toda valve springs and a decked head and went 13.0 on slicks in a integra...so i think that toda cams are very nice when it comes to power

some good choices are : Toda spec A and B ( you need Toda springs for the B's) skunk stage 1 , you can not go wrong with stage 2 you can always make good power with the stage 2 if you wanted to go with stage 3 then you need a bit more CR ..
tune properly you can run 12.1 CR on 91 octane ....

people always talk about "i gained 18 whp switching from my ITR cams to skunk2!" but they dont show dynos to show where that power came from. id like some nice mid range power. Do you think it would be wise to stay OEM then?

OEM.. 00+ ITR Cams.

They have potential of 200whp, FAT midrange power, nicely priced.

A friend of mine put 00 type-r cams in his stock GSR and he said he noticed a bit more power, but no dyno runs or anything like that. It might be all in his head too

ive seen low-high 12's with high 190'swhp..all depends on the chassis tho..dont expect that with a full trim integra ive seen it done with a crx SI tho

ok heres my opinion; I have a setup like you
b18a block
gsr head
ITR pistons .25 over
ferrea valves
DC header
W/ ITR cams and they are very nice make dramatic difference
but if you cam get CTR cams it has a more aggressive intake cam I belive

On slicks you should be able hit 13's with just an ITR intake cam on your setup (I did it back in 1998 with a similar setup - but we had 92 octane then ).

That said, while I'm a big Toda fan and the Bs produce kick *** midrange, whenever I dyno a car with Skunk cams they've never failed to impress. Assuming you've got at least an average port job, you should be able hit right around 200 whp with the Stage I's, Hondata and a good tune. But since we always want more power, might as well buy the Skunk2's now.

thanks everyone for your opinons. After hearing everyones thoughts, im gonna go with skunk2 stage 2's, since i get a good discount on them at my work, they wont be much more than ITR/CTR's.....
