Vtec controller worth it on a B16?
I have a pretty much bone stock JDM b16a 1st gen in my 89 crx. I run 15.2 all day long, but want to dip into the 14s. Would a vtec controller be worth my while? anyone have any info. or anything that i should know. Thanks
i think on a basically stock b16 it wouldnt be imo. most people use them when upgrading cams etc... is that motor runnin strong? seems thats a little slow for a b16 isnt it? i could be wrong prolly am
I have a set vtec controller for sale from JDM R-spec for obd0 ecu. plug and play, don't have to cut any wire. if interest email me usjdm1@aol.com

yeah that was why i bought one so soon, before serious mods...
But the spoon vtec controller doesn't have the ability to raise the engagement
but you can go down to 2k rpm, if you really want to...might hurt something.
But the vtec light and the easy plug and play style is something i really liked.
I think this was the first thing I have ever installed that just simply plugged in.

If it's just a VTEC controller like the spoon, not worth it.
But if it is something like the APEXi V-AFC it is worth it.
Even on a stock engine, being able to tune your A/F ratio and adjust the VTEC
engagement point will make more power. You would need to tune it at a dyno, otherwise you will be wasting your money.
