just finished an install. jdm h22 into 93 lude si. it starts runs and drives great. but the vtec does not kick in and the rev limiter kicks in about 6200 rpms. THERE IS NO CEL.

any ideas?

the vtec was hooked up to the factory wire and the oil pressure switch wire was hooked to the blank blue wire on the fire wall harness.

 

I know you have said there is no CEL showing, but have you jumped the service connector anyway to double check?

A couple of things needed for VTEC to engage:

normal engine operating temp.
enough oil
high RPM (usually over 5K)
Throttle position

just to name the major ones

 

make sure to check all of your wiring. go over and over and over and over. checking it. jump the service connector to see what cel's might come up. i have an extra jdm p13 i can sell ya. 150 shipped. but make sure it's not the ecu first.
