Default Is $2300 too much for a complete swap B16A into 90 CRX Si?

I was quoted by a local shop here in so. cal for $2300 for a complete swap B16A into 90 CRX Si. I know that complete B16A can be had for around $900-950. Engine mount and all other accesories should not run more than $500. That leave about $850-900 for labor, is that too much. I used to help my father overhaul our B2000 truck, that is not too hard since the engine compartment is pretty much empty. I never done hybrid before but I think I am capable of such task if given enough time. How hard is it to do an engine swap if you have all the parts and tools ready? My budget is around $2000 max.

Not a bad price, but dep. on components....HASport mounts cost about $450, wiring harness about $150, axles ~120, make sure you get a "good" b16a w/ no oil leaks and worst case with good compression & worth even an extra 100-150.Want to make sure you got the shift linkage right (another 100) and throttle linkage correct.Might want to go with diff. front crossmember so you can later fit in a good header but this is another 180....

lets see.
engine +tranny +ECU, approx $1000,
engine mounts approx $450
Linkage approx $100
axles approx $130
various things like new upper rad hose (which you need)
plus labor, it comes out to be a good deal.

I seriously doubt that you could get that kind of deal outside CA.

2300 is definately a Socal price. I do them all day long for 2500 up in Nor Cal and that is 300 bucks cheaper than the next cheapest shop. 2300 bucks is good. Swap around 1000 bucks, mounts around 450, wiring around 150, hoses, coolant, plugs around 75 bucks, axles around 125.....so that is about right...labor around 600 bucks or so.

Hey that's a great price. I'm In Dallas, TX and the cheapest
I found was 3500. Before that I was quoted around 4500.
So 2500 is definitely a good price. Too bad I don't live
in Cali.

HS kit 450 shift linkage 125, wiring 125, motor 650, gasket set from honda 200. CV axles 175. I had a buddy, who never worked on his car before, swap his motor in two days, changing the gaskets and clutch. It took the rest of the week to fic little problems. He was very successful, all you must do is get all the proper parts harness and equipment before the swap and do it yourself. Its alot more rewarding, and cost friend for over 2grand you could have other **** done to it. My buddy didnt even have tools he borrowed them from other people.

I leave in montreal(Canada)... Its crazy how much you paid for your engine Here to put a B16A in 4th Gen it cost about 2500$, but in canadien money !!!!! We also have B18c1 for about 3500-4000$ install in 5th and 6th gen. One of my friend bought a B18B1 2000 with 5000 km for 1800$ !!! All in canadien money did the conversion and you will know in US$ So if you stay near the line US/Canada come here to swap your engine you will save a lot of money !!

Is that for USDM b16s or for JDM b16s? Just curious, as we might be swapping a B16 or b18b into my GF's g2 CRX.
