i saw in edmund.com that a 97 type-r is like 10,500 at a dealer. but all the ones i have seen go for like 14k. what price should i pay for a stock 97 type-r. are their any flaws or recalls for this car? any help is appreciated. thanks.

 

I paid 15K (guy was asking 16.5K which I was gonna pay) for mine almost a year ago. It had 37,000 miles and was clean and stock. I'd say for a clean one, you'll pay at least 14K. but as much as 17K.

is their any real differences or problems between the 00-01 type-r's and the 97-98's? is their any reason they didnt make em in 99? like a glitch or something?? thanks again

 

I paid 18K$ for my CW itr 2 months ago. Flawless condition 22k miles though. Extra front bupber and lip and new set of stock itr mats thrown in.
Just for comparison. Go for it...

 

$14,500 with 48k miles and flawless condition.

I paid 17 for mine in October 2000. It only had 27K on it. The guy was asking 18500 for it then.

 

It depends on where you get a price from. Edmunds has always priced cars quite a bit lower than say NADA.

If you find a '97 for $10,500... there's something serious wrong with it. (99% of the time).

If it's your lucky day, you might find one for that price without any problems. Happy hunting.

 

Yeah, if you look on NADA it goes for 13,675 retail. Edmunds just underprices their vehicles.
