The engine work, suspension parts, miscellaneous safety gear installed and the Panasports are worth maybe twice what the auction is currently up to, at least comparing them to new parts and labor. If it goes for $2K or less, you could consider it the same as buying a few parts and getting a tub and what looks to be a bolt-in cage for free.

Don't think that if I didn't already have my bastard 1g Integra and too much $$ invested I wouldn't buy that car in a second and move to a lighter H5 car.....

 

Needs work for sure, but theres alot of trick parts on that car.
Its also not far from a G Production set-up. Not competitive in ITA, but Blake does pretty good in his CRX in GP.

 

What kind of work would it need?

 

IMO, probably just cosmetic - looks like the plastic front fenders are cracked/have pieces missing, and the bumper cover is a little busted. Also missing LF marker light, but that's $10 at a junkyard. Otherwise, a cheap bastard could repair that bodywork with white racer's tape and come to CMP in Sept.

 

Not bad. Three cars for $1100.

It looks like theres some cracked fenders and such. I'm guessing there's probably some rust here ans there as well. I certainly doesn't look as if its been "babied" and maybe not even stored indoors.
Put the parts are right. If it is under $4K its a deal.

Note that there's another one just like it but in better condition here in Atlanta. I think the asking price is $6K but I'm not sure.

HP huh?? Let's see. '04 rules allow .040" over & I just happen to have one like that. I have had that engine on the track this year, but I will let you guys figure out when I did that . I also know that my H5 weighs 2044lbs. with me in it, which is 100lbs. less than the other car. Hmmm. I wonder if I could make 1 H5 car out of 2? (H5 + CSP = H5????)

Bahh! By the time I had invested in a CRX what I sunk into my Teg, I woulda been pushing H3 through the twisties! I drool to think of how much easier the corners and braking zones would be with 400 fewer pounds.....

Ah, but remember, straight line speed is also much of a factor of how well you get through the corner, and how early you get on the gas... Me? I never lifted!

VIR also was the first outing of Mr. Puckett's tubular masterpiece that connects my exhaust ports to my muffler. That one sure didn't hurt!

0.1 litres and maybe 12-15 hp, but the same size tires and the same suspension carrying 400 lbs more weight. The Teg might have an advantage at Lowes, but I'll bet everywhere else when matched up to fully built, well driven H5 CRX I'll have my hands full.

Alright guys, 2 days left on the auction and it's still at $1110. (yes, I know it will bid up at the very end, don't even comment. Just trying to egg 'em on...)

I spoke with the owner on the phone this evening. Me and Elgorey are considering going in on it together to get licenses. $3000 is cheaper than renting a car for 4 weekends (2 people x 2 weekends each).

That's a damn deal for $3000. With the engine work, wheels, and suspension bits, you're looking at twice that much out of pocket. Trust me, I know. At least Tom F and Blake were gentle.
