Armrest conversion?
I have a 95 civic coupe dx with no amrest between the 2 seats and i thought it would be kinda nice to have that extra storage between the 2 seats for lil odds and ends, maybe even some guages. but ne ways would an amrest conversion work if i bought one out of a sedan or something, would i need to modify the armrest at all? and yes i tried searching, thanks in advance
here's the item for reference

I have done the armrest swap. It fits the same but there is no spot to put the rear screws. This doesn't have any affect because the seats will keep it from wiggling from side-to-side. Do it - Its cool man. The audio console is a JDM part that replaces the lower center of the dash (where your ashtray is). Its made for a double-din radio installs. It requires removing the cup holder but thats ok because they wont hold crap anyway. They are great for installing foldout monitors or a dvd player or sumpin.

Not just JDM, also called the Optional Audio Console (because it was an option).

how about the 96-00 (not to steal the thread)??? Does it mount up using all the stock locations? Also,...I have a Corbeau A4...will that rub it or prevent it from fitting??
try your local junkyards for those armrests...i got mine for 10 bucks...and you need the brackets to screw it down on the back or you can just make your own with some imagination...
as far as the 96+ armrests, i GUESS it can be done, but they have little pockets and usually connect all the way to the cup holders so i'm not sure...

i bought mine off ebay and it came with "a" bracket but i dont think it was the one i needed so i went to a junkyard and found one on a 6th gen civic and tried that too but it too didnt work
does the armrest slide at all without the back bracket and also what is the correct bracket you need, does one usually come with one if you get it off ebay? or it prolly depends huh
92-95 cars- I think the armrest was mostly stock in 4-door EX's. Thats where I got mine from. The front bolts in in the same spot that the non-armrest e-brake cover bolts to. The back of the non-armrest cover just hooks under on a piece of the e-brake assembly(no screws). To bolt in the back of a armrest console, you would have to get the e-brake assembly as well or make your own mounts. Mine is not bolted in the back and I dont have any problems. Would be nice to screw it in but I'm lazy. The top of USDM armrests are just plastic but the top of a lot of JDM ones are cloth that matches the stock door panels. Way nice. If your good with working fabric, you can cover the USDM one cause the lid is two pieces ( under structure and top cap). That little extra bit of storage is nice too.

I have it on my 99 ej6 without the rear bracket.
I can feel it move if I take a turn hard and have my arm on it, but it actually fits kind of good without it.
Why you worried about it?? The auction comes with the rear bracket anyway....
if you're going to buy that one, which you should do
