ShoKaa thread: How to properly use a claybar?
I need help using a claybar.
How do I properly use it? I think I'm suppose to keep the claybar lubricated throughout the whole process. And, just go back & forth until the surface is smooth. That's it?
I have a freaking black car that shows every minute blemish.
I think BDiddy and H-PIMP have nice shiny cars. Anyone else wanna help out a ShoKaa nooB?

remember to keep kneading and folding the bar as it picks up the particles off your paint

What does a claybar do exactly?
I have tons of what looks like dirt particles embedded into my pretty CW paint and looking for a way to remove them without too much elbow grease.

And of course read the directions provided witht he claybar product.
FYI H-pimp' car is a garage queen and Claybar ain't fixing Bdiddy's bumper's
I know the feeling though with showing EVERY FRIGGEN THING! After you wash the car you're lucky if you can keep it clean for 30 minutes... Then of course there's dust
Just keep spraying the car panel you are working on with the lubricant ahead of the claybar and glide the claybar over it. Don't need to push it hard.
Polish, Glaze and Wax help the black cars out. I use Meguire's but, can't remember the last time I did all that.
I'm still trying to figure out a way to get all that embedded brake dust off!
And NO claybar doesn't remove all brake dust... At least not mine.

The lubricant keeps the clay from sticking to the car.
The Claybar removes all sorts of junk, road grime, tar, bugs & crap that is stuck. It just sticks to the clay.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered the infamous Zaino Bro's products.
I'll let you know how it turns out. I bought their Polish Lok, Clearcoat Polish and Claybar.
Now, anyone using Zaino Bro's with tips?

No big surprise there
I'm always amazed at the number of Stuttgart products that show up for VIR events. And that most of them cost more than my house.

After washing my car with dawn, I broke out the clay bar and went to town. I was dissapointed that the clay bar didn't remove my tar/tree sap spots off my hood, and it didn't remove all the bug guts off the front of my nose. It did give the car a nice smooth luster, but it didn't remove what I thought it would.</TD></TR></TABLE>

If u are going to use the clay bar also get the #26 yellow wax from meguiars. Then also get some zaino or Zymbol wax and for the last wax layer use carnuba wax
So, does some brands of claybar work better than others?
From far away my car looks all white...close up it is speckled

I say mothers clay bar and meguirs 3 stage. just used it today after seeing everyone talking about it on HT and it is truly impressive. i highly recommend it.
you know what i found worked best... meguiers clear coat body scrub... not alot of people seem to use it. Ive used both the clay bar and body scrub. Body scrub = much better results.
3 step process
first make sure car is washed and all loose dirt cleaned off obviously
1) clear coat body scrub(same effect as clay bar, less effort+better results)
2) stage2 luster retore (similar to body scrub, not as harsh, brings out paints color)
3) stage3 carnuba wax
will make any paint shine!
