good deal?
I have a chance to buy a 86 or 87 CRX Si. As it stands right now, the motor and tranny are out of the car but are ready to go back in. The guy that I would be buying it from just rebuilt the whole motor with integra pistons, shaved the head, new bearings, rings, gaskets. It has a lightened flywheel with new clutch. All of the rotating mass including pistons, rods, crank and flywheel were all balanced together. All the parts are OEM Honda parts as the guy works for a Honda mechanic shop. The guy also has some new body parts for it such as the plastic parts that always crack on the 1st gen CRX's. He said the car is ready for paint if I wanted to repaint it. The only thing is that I would have to reassemble some of the car including installing the motor and tranny and bolting some of the body panels and lights and so forth. He wants $800 for it. Does this sound like a good deal?

I would say it sounds like a good deal, But you need to be prepared for the headaches that come along with doing a project car, Or be prepared to spend some money having the work done. I think it would be cool to have since it is something different.
Well, doing the work isn't a problem as I also work at a mechanic shop. We just work on BMW's, Mercedes Benz's, and Porsche's instead of Hondas. The guy just ran out of time to complete the car.
